A Long History of Drilling

A start in the right direction.

In 1971 Leroy Clouser founded Clouser Drilling in the Illinois Valley. After being honorably discharged from the Airforce, Leroy worked on oil rigs in Southern California where he gained experience and a passion for drilling. He returned home and purchased a Failing air rotary drill platform which he outfitted to a GMC chassis in his shop. Clouser Drilling was born! Leroy served the Illinois Valley for years, with many wells that are still in use today.

Continuing a tradition of excellence.

In 1995 Leroy’s brother-in-law, Chuck Gill, purchased the business after years of involvement. Chuck brought with him a level of quality workmanship that remains a key core value today. Chuck and his wife Carol expanded the capacity of the business, investing in high end equipment, advancing drilling capabilities. Chuck ushered in decades ownership and operation by Gill family, retiring in 2012.

Growing stronger.

Since 2003 the company has been managed and operated by Kevin Gill, Chuck’s son. A military veteran, with an extensive business background, Kevin brought vision and a level of professionalism which transformed the company to its current form. Kevin, along with his wife Helen, assembled team members, facilities, and operations exceeding where the business had been before. Both are passionate and dedicated to supporting their community. Kevin has been highly involved in the industry since joining Oregon Groundwater Association in 2003.
